The image below is quite appropriate for today, the winter of 2025-26 has given us some decent dumps of snow and cold temperatures. I've been working on our website for the last year, slowly building more skills in the web dev toolset. While the site may not have the most modern bells and whistles, I can now understand and edit everything on the site. This will give me the ability to add more content on a regular basis going forward.
If you are reading this, and you have an idea for content in this blog, let me know! I'd be happy to host articles from other timber framers or woodworkers/crafty people of any kind. If you're interested in learning timberframing, I would also welcome you to contact myself or Rob, we are both passionate about passing on our knowledge of the craft.
That said, I hope you enjoy the newest version of the Whippletree Blog, please come back to see what we are up to in the future.
-Kind Regards, Mark Davidson.
Farmhill Wedding Venue is located near our shop in Otonabee, just east of Peterborough, Ontario. This is a large barn-style timber frame, built from eastern white pine with 10x10 posts and 10x14 beams. Having a timber frame in a venue such as this gives a lot of warmth and atmosphere, helping events reach higher levels.
