Ian's project was modelled after the main building at Earthwood Building school in New York State, USA. The building features Octagonal Timberwork, Strawbale walls and an Earth Roof. Timbers for the project are mostly hemlock, with white pine, ash, and cedar as well. Built on a remote site with no access to the grid, all power is generated onsite.

Hemlock and Cedar Natural split curves support a balcony and small earth roof over the entrance.

Timbers were finished with light blue stain, to give the timber frame unity.
